Hemlock Engineering specialise in the high-speed CNC machining of quality precision milled parts in aluminium, non-ferrous metal or plastic, though we have the capability to machine any type of material. PRECISION MILLED COMPONENTS
At Hemlock Engineering we manufacture thousands of high precision components in almost any material for our clients every year. Using the latest multi-axis CNC milling machines we produce a wide range of milled parts using robotic loading technology or multi-clamp systems for cost-effective, fast turnaround. With extensive CNC turning capability coming from our sister company HPC Services Ltd, we offer a complete engineering service with industry standard quality controls and efficient production processes to ensure cost effective engineering excellence.
3, 4 and 5-Axis CNC Milling
Our CNC milling facility comprising 3, 4 and 5-axis machines, specialises in the high speed machining of thousands of components for our clients each year. The majority of our 3-axis machines are equipped with 4th axis units and multi-vice work holding systems which can clamp up to 8 components for manufacture in a single operation. Our 5-axis machines can undertake high speed surfacing work or machine complex multi-axis operations with guaranteed relative geometry of all features. Efficient, high quality, high precision production at a competitive price.
High Volume Robotic CNC Milling Production
Our automated CNC milling facility houses two Brother Speedio 5 axis vertical-spindle machining centres, both equipped with robotic component loading and unloading capability. This recent investment has increased Hemlock's production output on medium to high volume machining five-fold as a result of reduced operator intervention in the production process. Each cell's enhanced efficiency and output has transformed our ability to provide a high volume, cost effective machining service to our clients.
Our sister company HPC Services Ltd offers a complete turning service for any type of component and can project manage the entire supply chain from CAD/CAM and machining to anodising or plating. Hemlock and HPC offer stockholding for call off or Kanban to provide a cost-effective, efficient production solution for our clients who require instant stock replacement. Using the latest CNC Fixed and Sliding Head lathes HPC can produce complex high precision components from 1mm to 250mm diameter in a single cost-effective operation.
As part of our commitment to providing a flexible, responsive service to our clients, we offer stockholding agreements as standard for instant call-off or Kanban. Stockholding agreements allow us to plan and manufacture for clients future component requirements and manage our production capacity efficiently, ensuring parts are available for instant call-off at the lowest possible price. Recent investment in a vertical carousel storage system has further streamlined our stockholding capabilities.

Process, Production Control and Efficiency
From initial enquiry to final despatch all components are tracked, processed and documented using our 'Route Manager' production control system. This software, designed and programmed in-house, enables efficient production planning, at-a-glance traceability and results in consistently high quality milled parts, lower production costs and shorter lead times.
Quality is fundamental to our company ethos. We supply components into many safety critical industries including train braking systems and fire suppression. Engineering expertise using the latest CNC technology and our in-house production management software means quality is at the forefront of every stage of the production process. Our inspection equipment is the most up-to-date available to guarantee quality and accuracy and we are fully accredited to ISO 9001:2015 through NQA, a UKAS accredited body.
